Dear Donor,

It's 3 days before I get your bone marrow. I don't really know how to thank someone that is offering me a second chance at life. I've been married for 5 years and my daughter will turn 2 September 1st. I had never heard of the donor registry before going though all this. Many of my friends and family have joined. They knew they couldn't help me, but could maybe help someone else, like you. I know the procedure for the extraction isn't fun, I've had it done several times and I thank you again for going through that for me. I guess I could tell you a little about myself. I'm a 23 year old male, I enjoy lots of outdoor sports and also spend a lot of time on computers. My carrier field is in computer network communications. I spend most of my days in the hospital using a computer connected to the Internet.

Once again, my wife and I are very thankful that you joined the registry and decided to donate the marrow I need. I'm sure I'll come through with flying colors, I'm in good health otherwise and have responded to the initial treatments very well. It's kind of hard to thank someone for saving your life, but that's what I'm trying to do.

Thank you very much.

Me, Wife, Daughter
